If you are unable to come, please cancel your appointment in time.
In our practice patients sometimes fail to turn up for their appointment without giving prior notice. As a result, fellow patients are needlessly forced to wait longer or are unable to make an appointment. To do something about this, we follow national guidelines in charging the so-called no-show fee.
What is the no-show fee?
The no-show fee is charged to patients who fail to attend their appointment with a doctor or nurse or fail to cancel their appointment at least 24 hours in advance. This sum is not reimbursed by health insurers. You will receive an invoice from the general practitioner which you need to pay within 14 days.
For a consultation the fee is €25,00.
For a double consultation the fee is €50,00.
Separate tariffs apply to specially planned activities such as a pulmonary function test or an ECG.
What can I do if I am unable to attend my apppointment?
If you cannot come, we ask you to contact the assistant at least 24 hours before the appointment. Often a new appointment can be made immediately.
Naturally there may have been a special reason why you were unable to attend. In that case you can tell the assistant what exactly went wrong, and costs will possibly not be passed on to you. However, if you repeatedly cite such reasons, we reserve the right to charge the no-show fee for all the missed appointments.
How can I make sure that I don’t forget my appointment?
Note your appointment with us in a place where you will be reminded of it in time or ask somebody around you to help you remember the appointment in time.
Avoid being billed: cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance in case of absence.
